ICE CREAM, THE SEASONAL GROUP

Brief

To create a full size prop of an ice cream upside down for their ice cream kiosk.

Challenge

This one was always going to be tricky - not just for the size, but also in the way it needed to be sculpted as it would be delivered through one double door.

Process

Firstly I created a small maquette of what the large sculpture would be, in complete scale, to then build around it. Once this was then confirmed I then placed several full blocks of poly on top of the make shift wooden structure.

Marked up I then started with various sanding tools to form the desired shape. After cutting through the structure as I needed to allow the sculpture to sit on hidden beams.

Finishing

Hard coated and painted it now sits on top of the ice cream parlor at Barton Grange
